Almost there

Yes, it's almost time for school to get out for the summer! My kids go to Robertson County School, so they will get out on Wednesday, the 21st. Their excited about it, too! The weird thing is when they went to Davidson County schools, they ALWAYS got out a half a day on the last day, well not here in Robertson County, they have to go ALL DAY! To be honest, I'm READY for the summer! I miss having them here during the day, it gets kinda boring when there not here, but I'm sure come August I'll be ready for them to go back..lol..I know we do alot of different things during the summer, but we won't be doing much of nothing this summer because they will have football and cheerleading practice 3 times a week for the entire summer and games on Saturday's. Plus when school does start back up in August, they will have practice on Tuesday and Thursday and games on Saturday's! They knew this before they signed up and still wanted to do it, so i said OK, we'll do it!

Steven has his field day tomorrow and Amber has her on Tuesday! I always attend their field day, so this year I got lucky this year because there field days are on separate days! When they went to Davidson County schools, it was kinda hard to go to both of them! I would have to walk around with Steven for a little but, then leave him to go walk around with Amber, so that's why I'm glad theirs are on separate days!! I love going and watching them do field day. I REALLY LOVE watching their faces if they get an award/ribbon! Last year Steven got a few 1st place ribbons, and a couple 2nd place ribbons. I can't exactly remember what all he won ribbons for, but i do know he got 1st place is the potato sack race and second place in the bubble gum blowing contest! Amber got a couple 1st place and a few 2nd place. Again, I can't exactly remember what her ribbons was, but i do remember her getting 1st place in the bubble gum blowing and 2nd place in the shoe scramble! I got to laughing at her and her partner in the wheel barrel race. Y'all all know Amber is tiny, well her partner was a lil on the chunky side and this is how they paired up for the race. Amber's friend Joann was walking on the ground with her hands while Amber held her feet. As you know, they didn't even come in 3rd. Amber said "moma Joann was heavy"..lol..i said well baby y'all did it backwards, she should have held your feet! I had a BLAST watching both of the kids!! I ALWAYS love going to their filed days!!

Well, i really just wanted to blog about something a lil different! Most of the time I'm bitching or talking about some drama, so i wanted to do a positive blog..lol..I hope everyone has a GREAT week!!

This day back in 1997

My beautiful little baby girl was born!! I can hardly believe it was 11 years ago today!! Makes me feel old *snickers*I want to tell Amber Lynn HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!

Cheerleading

Woooo Weeeee, My Saturday started really early this morning, I got up at 6:30 am, so I could go and sign Amber up for cheerleading! She suckered me into being a assistant coach! Watch this wreck..lol..She's super excited about cheerleading! Which I'm excited for her! I was a little worried at first because she is so little, but i think she'll be alright! She ask to be on the same squad as her best friend Miranda, which is NOT her age group!! Amber will be 11 on the 17th of April, her and Miranda want to be on the same squad, so she's going to be cheering in the age group of 9 and 10 year old, which is alright with me because Amber is so little!! As of now, it looks like my summer is going to be nothing but cheerleading and football! What a summer, huh? I could careless as long as the kids are happy! I feel like if their going to give up their summer, why can't I?

It looks like we'll being saying "Go East Robertson Indians" all summer!!

Winner's Circle

Yes, you read the headline right!! Steven's team won their basketball game yesterday!! Whoo Hooo!! The score was 15 to 12!! YAY for Team Heat!!


I really wanted to cry!! Let me explain as to why! After the game was all over, one of Steven's team mates, Noah came up and squeezed Steven's shoulder's and said "Man, Steven if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't have won the game". I was so overwhelmed that he had said that to Steven. Now, let me explain as to why he said that to my son!! It was the end of the 4th quarter and Steven got fouled, so he got to take his two foul shots. He missed the first one (that's OK), but he made the second one. Mind you when Steven got his 2 foul shots the score was tied 12 to 12, so with Steven making his 1 of 2 shots, put the score to 13 to 12, so the WHOLE team got all excited that Steven had brought them up. Well, one of his team mates had the ball and made another shot (it was pure luck cause the other team had him surrounded) there was less than a minute left in the game, so they was all EXCITED and so was all the parents, grandparents, friends, and etc. that was sitting on the bleachers. We all was on the edge of our seats..lol..we all was saying "oh my, we may actually win a game..lol". Well, after he made his shot, they played around with the ball the last 15 seconds to run the clock out! The buzzer sounded and Team Heat and everyone that was associated with Team Heat was SUPER EXCITED!! We all was jumping up and down, screaming, and what not! One of Steven's team mates was so excited about winning, he ran all the way around the court!! We all was in shock that we had finally WON a game. It was there first WIN and their last game. No one cared about that, all we cared about was the had WON the game!! I really wish you could have seen the excitement in ALL those kids' eyes and on all their faces!! Everyone was SUPER EXCITED, HAPPY, AND OVERWHELMED!! (are you picturing all the excitement)


Now, we head off to get trophy's. They were actually really cute! Cuter than i thought they would be!! Those kids was so excited to get their trophy's and the fact they had WON the game, added to all the excitement!! We all was VERY PROUD OF TEAM HEAT!!

"Heat"

I thought most of you would be interested in knowing what happened today at Steven's 1st basketball game, so here we go.....

He had to be there at 10:40, but his team wasn't scheduled to play into 11. He had to get there 20 minuted early, so he could get his shirt and get changed and go over a few things! We got him there right on time..lol

A few weeks ago after they had practice, they got to tell the coach what number they wanted on their shirts, Steven had picked number 55. Today when we got there, his coach told them that when she went to turn in the numbers they had ask for they had told her wrong, she said at first they told her they could pick from 0-99, then when she went to turn it in they told her they could pick from 0-10, so instead of letting them pick, she just handed them out, so they wouldn't all be fighting over the same number, which makes sense to me. Anyways, Steven ended up with number 8 and the name of his team is "Heat".

It's time to start the game. They get 9 minutes to a quarter and what the coach would do is let 3 people sit out for half of the quarter, so that meant 3 players sat out for 4 and 1/2 minutes. Steven had to sit out the first 4 and 1/2 minutes of the first quarter. On the second half of the first quarter, Steven was playing and he made one basket. He was the guy that takes the ball out, I'm not sure what the proper word for it is, but that's what he done.

The second quarter Steven got to play the 1st half of the quarter, he actually got 2 foul shots because a player from the other team hit his arm. He scored 1 out of his 2 foul shots.

At half time they all line up and shot the ball twice at the goal and if they make it in the basket it counts as a point. Steven had made 1 basket then, too.

Third quarter he sat out the first half and played the second, he did good, he made one basket, but a little boy on his team, stole the ball from the other team 3 times in a row, he was good!! The 4th quarter, Steven sat out the first half and played the second half, again. Every time that Steven played he was the "take the ball out guy"( i don't know what the proper name for that is..lol)

They all did a really good job for it being the 1st game, they all were excited and nervous. The other team had alot of tall boys on their team and on Steven's team they were all about the same size. There was a kid on the other team that was real tall, he was about my height.

Now everybody on both teams are in the second grade. That's what i did like about it, i liked that they didn't mix up the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders. Steven's team was all 2nd graders and so was the other team. Just like next week they'll play other 2nd graders, they will never play the 3rd thru 5th graders. They all had trouble with walking, double dribbling, & traveling. Even the other team had trouble with those, but hey like i said they all did REAL good for their 1st game. Some of the kids has probably never played basketball (the right way) and/or they don't know anything about basketball. Steven being one of those kids!!

The score ended up being 13-20, so we lost, but only by 7 points. I think that's REALLY REALLY GOOD with it being their 1st game. Each week as games and practices go by they will all get ALOT better!! Steven's next game is next Saturday, February 2nd at 8am, so if you wanna come and watch him play let me know and I'll give you directions. He had a good little cheering team today, he had Me, Ickey, Amber, Nana, Aunt Candy, Tyler, Granny Emma, Aunt Christy, Uncle Justin, & Kaden was his cheering team today. WOW, he had a good little cheering team of 10..lol!! We wasn't just cheering for Steven, we was cheering for the whole team!!

Remember, if you ever wanna come watch Steven and his team play, he plays every Saturday, but the don't always play at the same time. I'll post his game schedule, just in case you wanna try to come to one of his games. If you do, then you can email me or call me and I'll give you direction on how to get there.

Any game cancelled due to inclement weather will be made up the following week instead of having practice. If his game on March 1st is cancelled due to inclement weather the game will not be made up and a trophy presentation will be scheduled.

Alright, there you go you have his schedule and when he will receive his trophy, so i hope to see some of you at the game!!

Alright, that's all i have for now, i think I'll go take me a nap I'm kinda sleepy!! We may go out with some friends tonight and i got to get a nap before we go..lol..I hope everyone enjoys their night and what's left of the weekend!!

The things kids will say and do

We got SNOW!
Check this out, my kids said if you put your pj's on backwards, put a spoon under your pillow, & dance backwards, there will be alot of snow.
They was trying to put their pj's on backwards, trying to put spoons under their pillows, & was dancing backwards before bed!
I had to make them put their pj's on right, put the spoons up, & stop dancing.
They said we want lots of SNOW, so they will call school off tomorrow..hahaha
